EPA: Reporting Final Rule
PFAS
As we learn more about the long-term effects of Polyfluoroalkyl substances, more reporting is likely. To conform to Congressional legislative mandates, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is publishing its Final Rule updating the list of chemicals subject to toxic chemical release reporting. Since this final rule is being published to conform to legislation, a notice and comment period is unnecessary. This is why we are just hearing about it today.
Those effected by this final rule can check their North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code to find out. Specifically, the PFAS being added to the TRI list is:
Sodium perfluorohexanesulfonate (82382-12-5)
This final rule goes into effect March 30, 2026. To view the rule in its entirety and see which NAICS codes may be effected, you can click HERE NOW!
