COURSE DESCRIPTION

DOT General Service Tank Car Training (49CFR) focuses on the safety and federal regulatory requirements associated with preparing a tank car for transport. It provides instructions for anyone who affects transportation by loading, unloading, securing  or giving advice on the proper metohds for preparing a tank car for transport.

• Pressure Tank Car Protective Housing Cover Securement
• Manway Gasket Inspection and Manway Securement for Tank Trucks
• Post Trip Inspection
• Placarding
• Securement
• Grounding and Bonding

WHO NEEDS THIS TRAINING

• Anyone who loads, unloads or handles hazardous material that affects transportation of railcars.

WHAT MAKES OUR TRAINING DIFFERENT

• We provide on-site training for DOT Hazmat Railcar Loading and Unloading for general service, pressure, covered hoppers, pressure differential or any type of tank car.
• With our Onsite Training, we provide field exercises available upon request to provide hands on training of a tank cars equipment, securement requirements or an explaination of markings.
• Our training covers Pamphlet 34 developed by the Bureau of Explosives and adopted by the Federal Regulations.
• Our instructor’s can help or assist with developing pre/post loading checklists and or procedure for loading and unloading.
• Training includes grounding and bonding according to NFPA 77.
