Have you ever wondered how or who helps craft the rules and regulation changes within our industry? If you’re like me, you probably assumed it was people far from the industry in suits and ties making changes to what people do far from the pens and papers writing the very changes we live with daily. Well, now is your chance to have a voice in some of those changes as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will hold a hybrid public meeting on June 21, 2023, with the U.S. interagency Global Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) Coordination Group.

During this meeting the groups plan is to “consider the comments and information gathered at this public meeting when developing the U.S. Governments positions of the UNSCEGHS or [United Nations Sub-Committee of experts on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals] meeting” held in Geneva, Switzerland on July 10-12, 2023. Those interested in submitting comments, you may do so on July 2, 2023 on the Working and Informal Papers for the 44th session of the UNSCEGHS to the docket established for International/Globally Harmonized System (GHS) efforts at: http://www.regulations.gov, Docket No. OSHA–2016–0005 .
