      2024 Most Cited Violations

I know we say it every year, but can you believe it’s already that time of year? The time of year where we discuss the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) top ten most cited violations for fiscal year 2024. While the “usual suspects” are the same, some of the positioning has been shaken up.

So, without further ado, let hop right in:

      10. Machine Guarding (1910.212):  1,541 Violations

      9.  Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment – Eye and Face Protection (1926.102):  1,814 Violations

      8. Scaffolding (1926.451): 1,873 Violations down 4 spots- previously #4

      7. Fall Protection– Training Requirements (1926.503): 2,050 Violations

      6. Powered Industrial Trucks-Forklifts (1910.178): 2,248 Violations down 1 spot-previously #5

      5. Lockout/Tagout (1910.147): 2,44 3 Violations- up 1 spot-previously #6

      4. Respiratory Protection (1910.134): 2,859 Violations- up 3 spots- previously #7

      3. Ladders (1926.1053): 2,573 Violations- No change

      2. Hazard Communication (1910.1200): 3,888 Violations- No Change

      1. Fall Protection-General Requirements (1926.501): 6,307 Violations- No Change

As some of you might have noticed, Fall Protection once again took the not so top honors for the 14th year in a row. With Fall Protection making OSHA’s list twice, it’s clearly a big issue in the industry. Thankfully, since you’re reading this short informative blog, clearly safety is your top priority!
