Something Every Industry Can Get Behind
In case you didn’t know, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) is hosting it’s annual U.S. Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative (HTAI) from January 8, 2024 to January 12, 2024. Human trafficking is something rarely talked about, but a huge issue plaguing millions of people across the world. It’s estimated as many as 24.9 million men, women, and children are forced into many different roles (prostitution, forced labor, and domestic servitude) as slaves. There is more human slavery today than any other point in history.

You can also find other resources and initiatives at the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) website under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administrations (FMCSA) campaign titled “Your Roads, Their Freedom.”
And for those of you who do not live in the US, the Canadian CVSA Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative will be held Feb. 19-23, 2024, and Mexico March 11-15, 2024. Unfortunately, this is an often less talked about issue afflicting every sex, gender, race, age, and demographic, but thankfully raising awareness and fighting this unspeakable evil is something we as humans can stand behind together and hopefully one day end the human suffering!
