Being The Change You Want to See
Often when rules and regulations change, we find ourselves wondering “who came up with these suggestions” and “how is this good for business?” Well, in case you didn’t know, the Department of Transportation (DOT) Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) hosts public meeting where they field your comments regarding proposals being considered by the international bodies who set the standards. It’s akin to Homeowner Associations where you can either be an active participant in shaping the rules and regulations or sit on the sidelines and grumble. For those interested in being the change they want to see, PHMSA has set the public meeting schedule as follows:
* Each meeting will be held approximately two weeks preceding the international meeting. *
- June 24- July 3, 2024, in preparation of the 64th session of the United Nations Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (UNSCOE TDG).
- Tentatively scheduled for Oct 2024 in Montreal, Canada International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Dangerous Goods Panel (DGP) Working Group 24 (WG/24)
- November 25-December 3, 2024, in Geneva, Switzerland 65th session of the UNSCOE TDG
