EPA Interim Final Rule

Submission Period Change
On May 13, 2025, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA or Agency) published its interim final rule amending the data submission period for manufacturers of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The Reporting period now begins April 13, 2026, and ends October 13, 2026, with small manufactures reporting exclusively as article importers by April 13, 2027. The EPA found this change to be necessary to have adequate time to prepare for the reporting of such data.
If you are unsure if you could be affected by this final rule, potentially affected North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) codes include but are not limited to:
- Construction (NAICS code 23).
- Manufacturing (NAICS codes 31 through 33).
- Wholesale trade (NAICS code 42).
- Retail trade (NAICS codes 44 through 45); and
- Waste management and remediation services (NAICS code 562).
All comments related to this interim final rule must be received on or before June 12, 2025.
