What’s on the Agenda?

It’s likely that at some point you may have visited the Federal Register to see what is happening in the regulatory world. That is why they have released the Semiannual Summary which covers the Unified Agenda of Federal Regulatory and Deregulatory Actions (regulatory Agenda). If this is your first-time hearing about it, it covers all current and projected rule makings, review of existing regulations, and completed rulemaking actions of the DOT. Within the regulatory summary, it will cover the next 12 months of regulatory activity planned for the DOT. Although you must still search the proposed rule, it is much easier to simply scroll through the document versus searching specific topics and government agencies. It is the hope of the DOT that by doing this, its will give stakeholders and the public an opportunity to participate (comment) more in the regulatory process.
