On Its Final Approach
With pre-order now available for the 2023 International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR), the regulatory community is largely shifting its focus to many of the changes starting in January 1, 2023. None more important that the new Competency Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) approach. If you haven’t already heard or missed our recent email focusing on your new responsibilities as an employer or employee, make sure to click on our Announcement covering many of the vital changes you need to know coming into 2023.
With holiday season approaching and major changes coming in January 2023, we have already begun to receive many questions regarding the new CBTA method. None more prominent than:
“If I have just received refresher or initial training (any time before January 1, 2023) do I need to take it again in January?”
Based on regulatory information we have; it is our understanding that you will be covered for two years and must transition to the new format at the time of your new refresher training date. With the fourth quarter of 2022 and first quarter of the new year always being hectic for everyone, prudent planning should be a priority.
