PHMSA Lithium Battery Safety Advisory Committee Meeting
As many of you already know, the lithium-ion and lithium- metal batteries requirements changed on April 1, 2022. And if you didn’t know, check out our more in-depth look at those changes in our previous blog post.
So, if you’re a shipper, manufacturer, or manufacturer who produces products that contain lithium batteries, you may want to log-in to some of these meetings to participate however you can. It is required that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) publically announce their intentions to meet at least 15 days prior to their scheduled meeting. In this case, it was published to their website on Monday April 18, 2022 and will take place May 4th, 2022 from 9:00am to 5:30pm EDT.
