PHMSA’s Final Rule: Setting the Record Straight
Corrections, Removals, And Edits
To start the new year with more clarity, The Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) released their annual Final Rule of editorial corrections to enhance accuracy and reduce misunderstandings related to provisions and procedural regulations in the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR). Keep in mind though, this final rule does not impose new requirements and are non-substantive changes such as:
- The removal of the outdated references to Other Regulated Materials Domestic (ORM-D)
- Correct Typographical errors
- Fix incorrect regulatory references and citations
- Remove obsolete references, dates, and concepts.
