OSHA: Civil Penalties Increase for 2023
Everything is Going Up!
It should come as no surprise that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has also decided to increase its penalty amounts which took effect over this past weekend on the 15th of January. Moving forward, all citations issued will fall under the new structure below:
- §1903.15(d)(1)- Willful violation (minimum) $11,162, an increase of $802
- §1903.15(d)(1)- Willful violation (maximum) $156,259, an Increase of $11,232
- §1903.15(d)(2)- Repeated violation $156,259, an Increase of $11,232
- §1903.15(d)(3)- Serious violation- $15,625, an increase of $1,123
- §1903.15(d)(4)- Other-than-serious violation- $15,625, an increase of $1,123
- §1903.15(d)(5)- Failure to correct violation- $15,625, an increase of $1,123
- §1903.15(d)(6)- Posting requirement violation- $15,625, an increase of $1,123
